Police confiscated school supplies totalling about 70 thousand lei

The merchants of school supplies who operate with exaggerated commercial added values risk having their merchandise confiscated. Over the last couple of days the police has confiscated merchandise totalling about 70 thousand lei from the merchants who weren’t able to show documents proving the source of the school supplies or who displayed higher prices than set by the current legislation.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 45 commercial centres in Chisinau were subject to verification. The highest prices were recorded in the north of the country. In Balti City alone there were spotted 35 cases where the added value for the school supplies exceeded 45-50% of the cost.
In Chisinau, the commercial added value in 15 of the centres tracked down for violation recorded 35-40%.
According to the cited source, the governmental decision established that the commercial added value for school supplies mustn’t exceed 20%.
Depending on the producer, quality and design, the price of a set of school supplies in Chisinau amount to an average of 300 lei.
