The National Liberal Party (PNL) called upon the other pro-European political parties in Moldova to celebrate together the national holidays marked at the end of August, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a statement, the National-Liberals say that they should continue the practice of May 9, when they observed Europe Day together with another three Democratic parties. “PCRM has nothing to do with the Independence proclaimed by the national forces; it disrespects the Romanian language and persecutes the 80% of Romanians in Moldova and cannot endlessly profit from the position of majority force in the Parliament,” the statement says.
At the same time, PLN expressed its position on the names of the national holidays. The party’s members are in favor of the old names: Independence Day instead of the Republic’s Day and Our Romanian Language instead of Our Language, as the holiday was named by the ruling party.
“The Democratic forces must prove that we are at home and that the imposters should at least not be in power,” the quoted source said. PLN also says that Moldova should withdraw from the CIS and join the EU and NATO, while Romania should be Moldova’s advocate and main ally in achieving these objectives.
