The National Liberal Party accused the ACUM bloc of having received a donation of 200 000 lei from a commercial company, which exceeds the maximum amount provided by the law that regulates campaign contributions. Chiril Moţpan, ACUM bloc MP, DA Platform, told IPN that the money has already been returned to the legal entity.

The National Liberal Party stated in a press release that during the electoral campaign, a natural person can donate up to 41 850 lei to a political party, while a legal entity can donate a maximum of 83 700 lei.

"Through the third electoral week report presented by the ACUM bloc to the CEC on October 7, we found that SRL EDIT PROM, led by Aliona Mandatîi, made a donation of 200 thousand lei, exceeding the maximum allowed amount of 83 700 lei”, the PNL communiqué specified. Additionally, PNL requested to direct the difference of 116 300 lei to the state budget and to sanction the electoral competitor.

MP Chiril Moţpan told IPN that the situation was caused by a misunderstanding. "The legislation was amended, while the colleagues who made the transaction did not know this. We regret this error. The money has been returned and we will comply with the law. I regret that this has happened", said Chiril Moţpan.
