Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited Telenești district, where he discussed the choice that Moldovans will have to make in the referendum this fall. “Our future depends on this decision. It’s time to show courage and choose what we want: build a secure and prosperous future at home within the European family”, declared Recean.

The official started his visit by going to the local market. “I went to the market in Telenesti, where I talked with the town folks about their needs and what we can do, all together, to bring prosperity and build a developed Moldova. Meeting with the local authorities, I mentioned that the European future of Moldova means well-being in the communities, and the involvement of local elected officials is key in building a prosperous future for all the people of Moldova”, said Dorin Recean.

The prime minister reiterated the Government’s support to the local authorities in developing communities. One such instrument of support is the European Village Program, which will be further extended. “The European Village Program has produced visible changes to hundreds of localities in Moldova, and this is just the beginning. We will carry on with determination and unity because European integration means more resources in our local communities: modern infrastructure, access to water supply and sewage services, kindergartens, schools and quality hospitals”, said the official.

Over the past two years, the Government invested 69 million lei through the European Village Program to build water and sewage systems, street lighting, educational and sports infrastructure for children and young people in Telenesti district. Further infrastructure projects, including a wastewater treatment plant, were discussed during a meeting with the local mayors.
