Prime Minister Pavel Filip has submitted to President Igor Dodon the same list of candidates for the posts of ministers and deputy prime minister in the recent Cabinet reshuffle. The Constitution requires the president to accept the nominees when submitted for a second time.
The shakeup was announced on Tuesday by the Democratic Party’s leader Vlad Vlad Plahotniuc following a meeting of the governing coalition. The proposed candidates are Cristina Lesnic for Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Chiril Gaburici for Economy Minister, Svetlana Cebotari for Health Minister, Liviu Volconovici for Agriculture Minister, Tudor Ulianovschi for Foreign Minister, Alexandru Tanase for Justice Minister, and Iurie Leanca for the new position of Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration.
Speaker Andrian Candu has said that President Dodon refuses the candidates for a second time, the Constitutional Court will be asked to advise on the proper course of action.
