PLDM to sign cooperation agreement with French Union for a People’s Movement

German Christian-Democrat MEP Elmar Brok, who is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, and the Secretary of State for Transport of France Thierry Mariani, a member of the Union for a People’s Movement, will be paying a visit to Chisinau on June 12-13, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM). On June 13, the two officials will have meetings with the president and first vice president of the PLDM Vlad Filat and, respectively, Iurie Leanca. There will be signed a cooperation agreement between the PLDM and the Union for a People’s Movement. Afterward, Vlad Filat and Thierry Mariani will give a joint news conference at the PLDM’s head office. The European officials’ visit forms part of the efforts aimed at strengthening the relations between the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova and the European People’s Party, it is said in the communiqué. The Union for a People’s Movement is a right-wing political party that is ruling in France. Its main political principles are pluralism, democracy and decentralization.
