PLDM, PDM and PSRM have largest number of local councilors

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), the Democratic Party (PDM) and the Party of Socialists (PSRM) have the largest number of local councilors in the village, district and town councils following the June 14 local elections, IPN reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, the PLDM won 22.24% of the vote in the elections to choose village and town councilors, the PDM – 21.88%, while the PSRM – 12.25%. The Party of Communists polled 11% of the ballot, the Our Party – 8.22%, the Liberal Party – 8.13%, the independent candidates  - 7.87%, the Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova – Iurie Leanca” (PPEM) – 5.89%, while the other contenders – less than 1%.

In the district councils, the distribution of votes by the political affiliation looks as follows: the PLDM – 18.27%, the PDM – 17.58%, the PSRM – 16.60%, the Liberal Party – 12.63%, the Our Party – 11.12%, the PCRM– 10.22%, the Electoral Bloc PPEM – 7.60%, the independent candidates – 3.19%, while the other candidates – less than 1%.
