The Liberal Democratic Party (PDM) has chosen the most unstable post within the offer made to the partners for forming a center-right government coalition, Prime Minister Vlad Filat told the press on Thursday. “We opted for the most unstable position on the one hand and for the most responsible position on the other hand. The post of Prime Minister means that the Government can be dismissed by the vote of 51 MPs. We should not forget that the post of head of state is the most stable one as there are practically no conditions under which the President can be discharged. The position of Head of Parliament is also stable because the Speaker can be fired by the vote of 2/3 of the MPs,” said the leader of the PLDM. The PLDM, PDM and PL cannot agree on the correct distribution of responsibilities that mean positions designed to ensure the power in the state, said Vlad Filat. He also said that the PDM’s position depends not on the PLDM. The PLDM will not yield to pressure. It is ready to make reasonable comprises, but the trust given by the voters should not be used to satisfy the grossly exaggerated wishes of certain persons. According to Vlad Filat, if a coalition is formed with the right-wing parties, a document will be signed that will include clear mechanisms for avoiding deviations from the reached agreements. Under the offer made by the Liberal-Democrats, the PLDM should designate the Prime Minister, the PL – the Head of Parliament, while the PD – the President.
