PLDM launches its governing program and shadow ministers

On Tuesday, February 3, the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) launched its governing program and future ministers on the chance that the party would be able to form the cabinet after the parliamentary elections, Info-Prim Neo reports. The party’s leader, Vlad Filat, avoided announcing the names of the parliamentary candidates, but he said that most of the “shadow ministers” are on the list. The PLDM will lodge the documents with the Central Election Commission (CEC) immediately after the latter announces the place and time, and then the party will launch its start of the electoral race for the ballot of April 5. Asked if he thinks of concluding a non-aggression pact with other parties, Vlad Filat said: “The parties having the chance to win seats in the parliament, to create a ruling coalition are obliged to prove society, on the eve and during the campaign, that they are able to lead dialogs, to yield and to have common points of view.” Filat said he already has agreements of this kind with a political party, but he didn’t name it. According to a release about the governing program developed by the PLDM, the party will insist on modifying the Constitution to enable electing the head of the state through direct vote by citizens, and the MPs would have to be elected on the basis of a mixed system – a half in uninominal constituencies and a half on party lists. The external policy will have as priority obtaining a statute of an associate of the European Union (EU) and establishing a clear term for joining the EU. The party sees the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict by withdrawing the Russian armament from the left bank of the Nistru and through instituting an international administration in the region under the aegis of the UE. Another priority is the NATO integration. Vlad Filat has announced the nominal structure of the possible PLDM cabinet, in which he has reserved the position of the prime minister. Liliana Palihovici, PLDM deputy president, has been designated to possibly be the minister for social protection; minister for economy and finances – Veaceslav Negruta, PLDM member; minister of interior – Vitalie Nagacevschi, PLDM member; minister for administration, decentralization and regional development – Iurie Tap, PLDM deputy president; foreign minister – Iurie Leanca, a diplomat; minister for education – Mihai Sleahtitchi, PLDM deputy president; minister for small and middle enterprises, commerce and business environment – Mihai Roscovan, the director of the Business Consulting Institute; minister for agriculture – Viorel Chivriga, program coordinator at IDIS Viitorul; minister for industry, energy and communications – Victor Bodiu, the director of Raiffeisen Bank office in Moldova; minister for transports and roads management – Valeriu Strelet, PLDM deputy president; minister for health – Vladimir Hotineanu, the president of the Liberal Democratic doctors and pharmacists; minister for culture – Ghenadie Ciobanu, the president of the Liberal Democratic People of Culture and Arts; defense minister – Iulian Fruntasu, PLDM deputy president; minister for youth, sports and tourism – Nicolae Platon, the president of the tour operators association; minister for ecology – Lazar Chirica; cabinet secretary general – Mihai Godea, PLDM first deputy president.
