Play “Family Tales” wins 6 awards at National Theatre Festival

The Grand Prix of the third edition of the National Theatre Festival (NTF), the special prize offered by the Moldova-Austrian Company “Era-Media”, as well as other 4 awards were won by the play “Povesti de familie” (“Family tales”) directed by Mihai Fusu at the National Theatre “Mihai Eminescu”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Awarding Festivity took place on the stage of the National Theatre on Sunday. The Jury presented the results of the 7 day contest, in which 11 theatres from Moldova participated, except for the Theatre from Cahul, due to justified reasons and the Dramatic Theatre from Tiraspol, which ignored the invitation. The play “Family Tales”, the drama of four children from former Yugoslavia, who confront with problems inappropriate for their age, 10-12 year, won, besides the Grand Prix and the Award for the best stage management (Mihai Fusu), best setting (Mihai Grusevan), and the best female leading role (Luminta Tacu), the best male leading role (Ghenadie Galca). The composer Liviu Stirbu won the award for the best soundtrack in the play “Public Garden Stephen the Great”, directed by Tudor Tarana from “Ginta Latina” Theater. Another award, for the best choreography, was given to Victoria Bucun for the play “Nobody’s People” directed by “Eugene Ionesco”. “The Planet of Dew”, directed by Titus Jucov at “Licurici” Theatre won the award for the best play for children. The best Actress and best actor in a supporting role award was offered to Angela Ciobanu and to Oleg Grudco who played in “Doctor Despite Himself” by Moliere, National Theatre and to Zinaida Cibotari in “No Name Star”, Chekhov Theatre. The award of the jury was given to the play “But What Shell We Do With The Cello?” by Matei Visniec directed by Petru Vutcarau, “Eugene Ionesco” Theater.
