The supporters of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” adopted a new resolution in the protest staged in the center of Chisinau on June 7. They demanded that an international team should investigate the ‘theft of the century’ so as to identity those to blame and punish them and to recover the stolen money, IPN reports.

The protesters also sought the resignation of the public servants who allowed the theft of money from the banking system to take place. The list includes Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin, director of the National Anticorruption Center Viorel Chetraru, National Bank governor Dorin Dragutanu, and Head of Parliament and ex-minister of economy Adrian Candu.

The resolution says the politicians who initiated and illegally distributed control over the law enforcement and regulatory boides - Vladimir Voronin, Vladimir Plahotniuc, Vladimir Filat, Marian Lupu, Igor Dodon and Mihai Ghimpu – should also resign.

The members of the platform issued the last ultimatum to the current government - on the part of the protesters from Moldova and from the diaspora – demanding that it should stop pretending to be satisfying the demands of April 5, May 3 and the repeated demands of June 7 and should fully meet them by the August 27 Great National Assembly. Otherwise, the members of the platform will mount permanent peaceful protests after August 27.

From the central rostrum, participants in the protest said the current government must be re-formed and replaced with a temporary government consisting of non-corrupt and honest representatives of civil society. These named Vlad Filat, Vladimir Plahotniuc and Vladimir Voronin ‘enemies of the people’ and demanded jailing them.

The platform encourages the creation of people’s political forces that would be able to remedy the situation in the political sphere so that the Moldovan voters benefit from a viable and credible political alternative in the parliamentary elections. It calls on the Moldovan people, regardless of the social group of which they form part, to show tenacity, perseverance and mobilization so as to remove the corrupt government and return things to normality.
