The Liberal Party (PL) and the Democratic Party (PLDM) should not have arguments for not voting for the Cabinet that will be proposed by the Lib-Dems’ candidate for premiership Iurie Leanca, considers political analyst Arcadie Barbarosie. He stated for IPN that we should be optimistic about the voting in of the new Government.
“Everything depends on how the PLDM negotiates with the other partners, with the possible partners of an alliance. We will see what the other partners say. At least Mihai Ghimpu (the Liberal Party head – e.n.) has not reasons not to vote for Iurie Leanca,” said Arcadie Barbarosie.
Earlier, the Liberal leader said he will not vote for the candidate for premiership if this is the chairman of the PLDM Vlad Filat. “His wish was satisfied as Vlad Filat is no longer applying for this post. The PDM may also support the Government proposed by Mister Leanca,” said the analyst.
Arcadie Barbarosie considers that the negotiations also depend on the position of the Liberal MPs headed by Ion Hadarca. “He didn’t show a negative attitude towards Iurie Leanca. Theoretically, we should be optimistic that the new Government will be installed,” said the analyst.
As to Democrats’ statements that they may refuse to take part in the negotiations if the head of state promulgates the package of laws passed by the Liberal-Democrats together with the Communist faction, Arcadie Barbarosie said the PDM was more dissatisfied with the amendments to the Law on the Constitutional Court and he sees no reasons for declaring those laws as unconstitutional.
On May 15, the Liberal-Democrats fielded Iurie Leanca for the post of Premier. They intend to hold talks with all the MPs except for the Communists and the Liberals who support Mihai Ghimpu.
