The League of Independent Pharmacies (LFI) Within the Association of Small Business requested repeatedly the Government to cancel the decision from January 25 2006 regarding the implementation of the Mechanized Informational System „State Medicine Classified List”. Otherwise the league holds the right to address its case to court, and, if necessary, to the European Court for Human Rights.
According to the representatives of the League, the situation of the pharmaceutical society from Moldova is close to a crisis. The heads of regional pharmacies declared that they will have to close all rural branches, because they do not have the proper financing to act according to the decision of the Government.
According to the president of the League, Sergiu Ziuzenco, the authors of the Government Decision pleaded the necessity of mandatory latent labels, in order to prevent the falsification of drugs and their smuggling. But this pretext is not at all relevant, given the fact that in the last three years, according to the data of the Medicine Agency, only 6 cases of falsification were registered. Meanwhile in that period no case of intoxication with falsified drugs was registered.
„Latent labels and the imposed program of the company „ONIX JVC” LTD is a method of obtaining income from the pharmacies, a method of monopolizing the market”, is written in a press release of LFI.
According to the data of the League 90% of the necessity of Republic of Moldova in medical products is covered by import. The prices for drugs increased with 173 %, while the export decreased with 40% comparing with the same period from 2005.
