The Prosecutor General’s Office proposed that the Government, Parliament and the presidential administration should order a complex internal audit at all the public institutions so as to identify possible corruption schemes at the upper level. Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo sent a letter to this effect to the three institutions, IPN reports.

The PGO noted the goal is to detect eventual schemes that favor the appropriation of public funds, smuggling, tax evasion, etc. The initiative envisions the involvement of the financial inspection and revision institutions and ascertaining bodies.

If eventual aspects holding interest are identified, the PGO is ready to ensure the investigation of corruption schemes by engaging the most experienced prosecutors.
