Petrocub demolished Sfîntul Gheorghe 4-0 in the derby match of the 16th stage of the National Division played in Suruceni. The team trained by Lilian Popescu scored by two goals in each of the halves, IPN reports.
The score was opened in the 8th minute by Ion Jardan, who scored four goals the current season. Another fullback, Jacques Onana, doubled the advantage in the 27th minute after another fixed phase.
In the 90th minute, Petrocub benefitted from a penalty that was transformed by Alexandru Onica. In two minutes, Sidi Sagna of Senegal scored an own goal.
“We came here after three points. It was an important match for us,” said the coach of Petrocub Lilian Popescu.
The other matches of the 16th stage ended as follows: Speranța - Dacia-Buiucani 0-0, Zimbru - Dinamo-Auto 0-0, Sheriff - FC Florești 5-0 and Codru - Milsami 1-4.
In the rankings, Sheriff has 45 points of 45 possible. Petrocub ranks second, having by nine points less than Sheriff. Milsami takes the third spot.
