Petrocub secures new title of vice champion

Petrocub for the second consecutive year has secured the title of vice champion. The team trained by Lilian Popescu beat away Sfântul Gheorghe 4-0 in the 25th stage of the National Division, IPN reports.

Maxim Cojocaru scored his first goal for Petrocub, while Vladimir Ambros reached his 13th goal the current season, achieving the same result as top scorer Sergiu Istrati. The 20-year-old Corneliu Cotogoi scored his fourth goal following a good pass from captain Ambros, while the final scoreline was set by Ukrainian player Artem Fedorov in the 89th minute.

Petrocub has by eight points fewer than the leading Sheriff, which didn’t compete in the 25th stage owing to the withdrawal of FC Florești. Elsewhere, Milsami defeated Zimbru 3-0, while FC Bălți won against Dinamo-Auto 3-0.
