Petrocub held the Moldovan champions Sheriff to a 1-1 draw in round 5 of Super Liga. Constantin Sandu opened the scoring for the hosts, but Steve Ambri delivered the equalizer already in the 36th minute.
“After Sandu’s goal we tried to hold on to the lead, but in the end I think a draw was a fair outcome,” said Petrocub manager Ivan Tabanov.
“I regret leaving several senior players rest on the bench for this game. I’m not satisfied with how our side performed”, said Sheriff assistant manager Stjepan Tomas.
Elsewhere in Super Liga’s matchday 5: Dinamo-Auto - FC Balti 0-1; Zimbru - Dacia 3-4; and Milsami - Sfîntul Gheorghe 2-3.
