Petrocub defeated Sheriff 1-0 in the first leg of the semifinals of Moldova’s Cup. The game was resumed in the evening of June 22 from the 28th minute, IPN reports.
Iaser Țurcan scored the only goal in three minutes of the resumption of the match that was interrupted in Hîncești on June 21 owing to the heavy rain. The game was resumed on the Zimbru stadium.
“It would be good to have one more day for recovery. Now every minute counts,” said the coach of Petrocub Lilian Popescu.
The second leg between Sheriff and Petrocub will be played in Tiraspol on June 25.
In the other semifinal, Speranța will meet Sfîntul Gheorghe at home. The first leg was won by Sfîntul Gheorghe 5-2.
