The football team Petrocub-Hancesti, which ranked third in the National Division this year, was awarded. The players, coaches and managers of the team received medals, IPN reports.
The award ceremony involved the managers of the team from Hancesti Mihai Usatyi and Mihai Craciun and the president of the Moldovan Football Federation Pavel Cebanu. Petrocub will represent Moldova in the UEFA Europa League in the 2018-2019 season.
“Teams from Europe will look at the map to find Hancesti. It is an important result for this team,” stated Pavel Cebanu.
“I have an extraordinary team. The players were disciplined throughout the championship and did their best and I think we deserved to mount the winner’s rostrum,” stated the coach of Petrocub Lilian Popescu.
