The persons who are brought to the hospital for examination and they test negative for COVID-19 are allowed to go home, but they should self-isolate for 14 days, either they are from a locality in quarantine or not, director of the National Public Health Agency Nicolae Furtună was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing.

“The lifting of the quarantine regime, as it will happen in Hâncești district, does not mean that the inhabitants will be free to walk and go out. They will remain self-isolated,” stated Nicolae Furtună.

The 14-day self-isolation is mandatory for persons who return from abroad, no matter what the goal of their trip was.

Nicolae Furtună explained that the placement of a settlement within a territorial-administrative unit under quarantine is decided by the Commission for Exceptional Situations when single cases of infection that affect 1% of the population are reported. The quarantine period lasts for 14 days of the day the last case of infection is confirmed in the locality.
