People’s Assembly of Gagauzia in quarantine

The People’s Assembly of Gagauzia was placed in quarantine following a decision taken by the Comrat Public Health Center after employees of the Assembly’s staff tested positive for COVID-19. The other employees who had been in contact with the infected persons must self-isolate, IPN reports.

The local press reported, with reference to the Center’s administration, that the novel coronavirus was confirmed in the chairman of the People’s Assembly and in two employees of the Assembly’s staff. This way, the body will not work for at least two weeks.

Earlier, the Comprat mayor’s office and the local Finance and Economic Development Division were also placed in quarantine.

The infections with the novel coronavirus in Moldova now total 11,093, while the death toll from COVID-19 stands at 385.
