The electors who vote for the Liberal Party (PL) risk not being represented in the future legislative body, considers political analyst Anatol Taranu. According to him, the split inside the PL can prevent the Liberals from coming to power, IPN reports.
Anatol Taranu said the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu was unable to keep the party unified and the fact that he remains high in the rankings of influential politicians is the result of the work he did before being removed from government.
As to the group of Liberal reformers, the analyst said they do not have a leader who would bring them victory in the next elections. Anatol Taranu does not believe that this group will encounter problems with the registration of their political project or with the numerical composition, but this project needs professional consultancy and there is not enough time for this.
Speaking about the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu, who gradually slipped in the rankings and is no longer among the top ten most influential politicians, Anatol Taranu said the Democratic leader is yet to work on his political performance and image. Lupu’s colleague Vlad Plahotniuc is one of the most influential politicians owing to the resources he possesses.
Asked about a possible conflict between Vlad Filat and Iurie Leanca inside the Liberal Democratic Party, the analyst said he does not think there may be such a conflict. “At least apparently, no conflict exists between the two. Moreover, they cooperate very well,” he stated.
Anatol Taranu considers that a conflict between the two politicians is excluded until the next general elections as it may affect the political future of the Liberal Democratic Party and governance.
