The People Power Party (PPO) started its campaign prior to the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 in a conference held online. The party chose such a format in solidarity with the education system, which was considerably affected by the pandemic, IPN reports.

The party’s leader Ruslan Codreanu, ex-mayor of Chisinau municipality, said time has come for all the children of the Republic of Moldova to enjoy equal opportunities. “Either they are from villages or from towns, from the north or from the center, from wealthy or vulnerable families, either they speak Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian or Gagauzia, all the children should have the chance to become what they want, while the PPO will work for them,” he stated, noting they will invest in education, but will not forget about agriculture, rivers, forests and the environment. “The middle class in agriculture does not exist. We will reform what subsidies mean so that money goes to those who really need it. 80% of our members are new in politics. We will turn Moldova into a country in which each of us feels that they have a future.”

Pediatrician Mihai Stratulat, who runs on the list of the PPO, noted that the party comes with a program to fully reform the national health system by increasing and optimizing public spending in healthcare, prioritizing investments and directing public funds to modern and high-quality health services, which would be used in the most efficient way. The PPO’s program also envisions the depoliticization of the health system, regionalization of hospitals and improvement of the quality of the pediatric medical service, introduction of public health programs for early detecting diseases with a high level of morbidity and mortality in Moldova.

The PPO’s list includes 57 candidates and the top ten of them are: Ruslan Codreanu, Mihai Stratulat, Irina Revin, Ala Bulgaru, Radu Podolean, Inga Catlabuga, Marin Zavalidrov, Ruslan Vasilică, Cristina Temizkay, Petru Socolan

The People Power Party was founded on March 18, 2021.
