Individuals who have not registered for the "Bill aid" program will receive electricity compensation in March for their February consumption. Meanwhile, those who have registered on compensatii.gov.md and are eligible for these payments found out today the amount of their January compensation.

When contacted by IPN, the head of the Information and Media Communication Service at the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Diana Blanaru, stated that discussions are currently underway with suppliers to implement the technical mechanism for granting February compensation in March to those not registered on compensatii.gov.md.

Until now, the government has provided compensation only to eligible applicants enrolled in the "Bill aid" program. However, starting next month, the tariff increase for the first 110 kWh on the bill will be compensated for all consumers. Regardless of whether they applied for compensation or not, consumers will pay the pre-December tariff for the first 110 kWh of their electricity usage.

This measure was made possible due to a new €250 million financial aid package from the EU, out of which €151 million is allocated for compensations.
