The financial supplements of 50, 60 and, respectively, 90 lei allocated to persons whose pension is lower than 1,300 lei will be released at the branches of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) until the end of this year, according to the lists compiled by the National Social Insurance House (CNAS). The money is available after the tenth day of every month. If a person is unable to take the supplement by the end of the month, the money is transferred to the next month, CNAS head Maria Borta has told IPN.
Asked why this money is not paid together with the pension at post offices, Maria Borta explained that under the legislation, all the financial supplements allocated by the state are released to recipients at the branches of Banca de Economii, on the presentation of the identity card, or are transferred to their bank accounts. In the settlements where there is no branch of Banca de Economii, representatives of this bank will make field trips according to agreed schedules. The pensioners who cannot go to receive the money themselves can legalize a power of attorney in the name of a trustworthy person.
The supplement is given to persons who receive a pension of under 1,300 lei after April 1. Those who have an integral old-age pension are entitled to a supplement of 90 lei, those with an incomplete old-age pension receive 50 lei, while the recipients of first-, second- and third-degree disability pensions – 90, 60 and 50 lei respectively. The persons who receive state social allowances, except for childcare allowance and death benefit, will get a financial supplement of 50 lei.
