After the next ordinary legislative elections, the Democratic Party (PDM) will become the main political force in Moldova. Such a message was delivered by the party’s deputy head Igor Corman in a meeting of the Chisinau field organization of the PDM on November 16. “It is evident that the face of our organization in Chisinau municipality has changed. A powerful party that has serious pretentions must work a lot in Chisinau. Communication plays a very important role. It mobilizes the party and helps us take the correct decisions,” said Igor Corman.
He reiterated the importance of the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit, where Moldova is to initial the Association Agreement with the EU. According to Igor Corman, the beneficial results will not be felt immediately by the people. That’s why the members of the party must explain to them what impact the agreement will have in the future. “We must have a close dialogue with the people. I understand that they want today higher salaries and higher pensions, but our obligation is to explain to them that the European integration is our way. We cannot bring about changes without meeting the European standards,” stated Igor Corman.
As to the European Commission’s decision to propose abolishing the visa regime for Moldovans immediately after the Vilnius Summit, Igor Corman said that next year will be a very important one and every member of the PDM will have to work hard.
The head of the Chisinau field organization of the PDM Pavel Filip, who is the party’s deputy head, said efficient communication is very important. “The tasks entrusted to the members of the party must be not only carried out, but also performed in an exemplary way,” he said, adding that in the local elections of 2011, the PDM had a poor result, but today the municipal organization is stronger and has coverage of 100% in the municipality.
In the municipality of Chisinau, there are 262 primary organizations of the PDM.
