The Democratic Party (PDM) calls upon the parliamentary parties to hold a dialogue and overcome the situation created after the failed constitutional referendum. “It is clear that the prerogative to resolve the crisis returned again to the legislative body,” the party says in a communique, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. In a meeting on September 6, the PDM's executive bureau analyzed the results of the constitutional referendum. “The PDM considers that now the Moldovan political class must show capacity to hold a constructive dialogue. We are obliged to find a correct solution to the crisis that risks becoming chronic,” the party says. Yesterday evening, Democrat MP Igor Corman said that if the referendum outcome is not validated, the Parliament should be dissolved immediately. The leaders of the Alliance for European Integration will convene today at 5pm. They are to consider the steps that will be taken if the results of the referendum are invalidated. This morning, the Central Election Commission announced that the voter turnout in the referendum was only 29.05%. A turnout of 33.3% is needed for the referendum to be declared valid.
