The Democratic Party (PDM) officially launched its campaign prior to the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The party’s president Pavel Filip said the PDM in this campaign comes with a country program entitled “Moldova Different”, which envisions the continuation of the reforms in different areas started by the party in 2016-2019, while it was in power, IPN reports.

During three years, the PDM managed to do what others cannot do during ten years and the country made headway. There were built roads, repaired schools and kindergartens and increased the salaries and pensions, while the young people could easier buy the first house. For the first time, the pensioners received lump sums in support on holidays, said the Democratic leader.

“Regrettably, in 2019 Moldova stopped. Since 2019, the country hasn’t moved on and stagnated. The economy declined, the prices and tariffs rose. There weren’t launched programs and projects to help the people,” stated Pavel Filip.

The Democratic leader noted the PDM has experienced persons who can handle a crisis. “The PDM is the political force that did concrete things for the people. The team consists of ministers, MPs, mayors, district heads. Moldova deserves other kinds of politicians. We will go to the voters for them to choose concrete deeds and accomplishments. The facts speak for themselves,” noted Pavel Filip.

Other members of the PDM noted that 40% of the candidates on the PDM’s list are young and this is something of a novelty for the party.
