The Democratic Party on May 26 launched a campaign to collect signatures in support of the country plan “Moldova Different”. According to Alexandru Jizdan, secretary general of the PDM, the plan for 2021-2025 is a follow-up to the reforms initiated and implemented by the Filip Government in 2016-2019. The document was drafted by the party’s experts in economy, agriculture, education, culture, security and justice. As part of the campaign, the PDM intends to collect tens of thousands of signatures, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip didn’t attend the launch as he has a very tight schedule, as his mates said. The PDM’s secretary general Alexandru Jizdan said the country plan “Moldova Different” contains ideas that are beneficial for the development of the Republic of Moldova. “Currently, even Democrats’ enemies admit that the Filip Government was efficient and now most of those who worked in the Filip Government form part of the Democratic Party’s team. We come with a rich experience, with a great wish to develop the country further and with lessons learned from the mistakes made by the Democratic Party, with the wish not to repeat them again,” stated Alexandru Jizdan, ex-minister of home affairs.

He noted that the country plan “Moldova Different” contains proposals for reforming the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ex-minister of education Monica Babuc formulated suggestions for reforming the education sector, while former head of the General Police Inspectorate Alexandru Panzari put forward proposals concerning security and defense.

Thirty teams of the PDM will go with this plan to all the country’s districts and citizens’ proposals will be inserted into the document. When it is finalized, the
country plan “Moldova Different” will be transmitted to the Cabinet that will be formed after the snap parliamentary elections of July 11.
