The Democratic Party insists on a number of legislative proposals in the form of a Social Package for Moldova that would form the basis of the political negotiations on the formation of the parliamentary majority and the Government, first vice president of the PDM, Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced in a press briefing after the party’s weekly meeting on April 9, IPN reports.

According to the Premier, the PDM would work based on the same package of proposals in the immediate period. “We are ready to discuss this Social Package for Moldova with parties interested in taking part in its implementation. We think it is vital for this state of political uncertainty to be brought to an end as soon as possible. All the parties should show political maturity towards the people, discuss the key issues and work to make people’s lives better,” stated Pavel Filip.

He noted that among the proposals included in the Social Package for Moldova are the concessions on homebuilding, such as the “First House 4” program intended for those from the private sector, rise in the one-time childbirth allowance from 6,303 to 10,000 lei, such infrastructure projects as the “Good Roads 2” program and projects to build water supply and sewerage systems.

Pavel Filip said the PDM will step up efforts to identify the political partner that can help Moldova avoid a long-term political and social crisis.

At the start of the press briefing, spokesman for the PDM Vitalie Gamurari said both the Premier and the ministers who were elected MPs will fulfil their duties until a new Cabinet is sworn in. He made reference to a Constitutional Court judgement of 2015.
