PCRM urges European officials to publicly condemn Basescu's statements

The Communists Party of Moldova warns the European partners about the direct involvement of Romania in the electoral process in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a letter to the European Commission, the Delegation of the European Union to Moldova, the EU Special Representative for Moldova and the EU Ambassadors in Chisinau, the PCRM says the President of Romania Traian Basescu in an interview stated that Romania will support the Alliance for European Integration in the early legislative elections. The PCRM considers that such statements made by an EU head of state during the election campaign conducted in Moldova discredit the European monitors who will supervise the parliamentary elections. The party considers the EU representatives in Moldova and officials of the European Commission should publicly condemn these statements.
