After Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc left the PCRM, this party can become more flexible in the dialogue with the Alliance for European Integration on the problem of election of the head of state, Acting President Marian Lupu, the leader of the PDM, said in the program “Public Life” on Radio Moldova, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “I think that after Igor Dodon’s defection, the PCRM’s position can be more flexible and different from that declared in the earlier discussions with the AEI. They no longer has a monopoly and the so-called ‘golden vote’ for electing the head of state. Thus, the political position of the PCRM and its decisions can suffer certain changes,” said Marian Lupu. He also said that the AEI must discuss with the three MPs who left the Communist parliamentary group and with the Communist opposition. “If the conditions imposed by the three lawmakers are unacceptable or dangerous for the ruling alliance, we must use another dialogue way, with the Communist group. Even if our positions are opposed, nobody can exclude that we can reach a consensus at a certain moment. It is important that there is a joint decision of the AEI as the alliance mustn’t be destroyed,” stated Marian Lupu. According to him, Igor Dodon’s position that the AEI should disappear like a bad dream seems strange as the three MPs who left the Communist parliamentary group want to offer a solution for electing the head of state. “If you want to discuss possibilities of overcoming the political crisis with the AEI, it is paradoxical and strange that you make such statements,” said the Democratic leader. He does not rule out that the defection of the three MPs from the PCRM may be a scenario devised by the PCRM itself. “You should never exclude anything in politics. Everything is possible,” said Marian Lupu. On November 4, Igor Dodon, Zinaida Greceanyi and Veronica Abramchuc left the Communist parliamentary group, arguing they want to help elect the head of state so as to avoid early elections, reform the government and ensure political and economic stability.
