PCCOCS gives details about video published by Jurnal TV

The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) provided details about the video that was allegedly extracted from a computer seized during searches at an address. It noted that the searches in a case concerning the inviolability of the personal life of a judge were carried out together with officers of the Security and Intelligence Service on July 7, at one of the suspects in this case. No one criminal investigation measures were performed there, IPN reports.

According to PCCOCS, not computers, but two cellphones were seized there. The phones were transmitted for technical-scientific examinations. The responsible institution hasn’t yet provided the results of examinations.

PCCOCS also said that until now it received no complaint about alleged causing of harm to image.

The investigations into the case of inviolability of the personal life of a judge continue also through the angle of violation of the domicile and planning of blackmail. Six persons were remanded in custody in this case by now.

JurnalTV channel presented evidence according to which Veaceslav Platon and Ilan Shor intended to discredit President Maia Sandu by launching a fake video in which President Sandu is shown to receive an envelope from the fugitive MP. According to the information presented by journalists of JurnalTV, Veaceslav Platon created a real network of trolls paid with large sums of money, whose task was to discredit Maia Sandu in the campaign prior to the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The network was annihilated by the responsible bodies before the dissemination of the fakes.  JurnalTV said it came into possession of one of the computers from the clandestine house of Veaceslav Platon and the video was obtained from this.
