The salaries of personnel of public health facilities will be raised by 15% retroactively, as of October 1. Parliament gave a final reading to amendments to the law on the mandatory health insurance funds for 2023, adopting them, IPN reports.
Under the bill proposed by the Ministry of Health, both the revenues and expenditure of the mandatory health insurance funds will be increased by about 399 million lei or 12.8%. The rise was primarily needed to cover the 15% pay raise for medical personnel as from October 1.
“All the healthcare workers – doctors, medical assistants and resident doctors – who are financed with money from the mandatory health insurance funds, will benefit from the 15% pay raise. The resident doctors will also get a 15% raise in the remuneration for night shifts. From this viewpoint, this is substantial raise. It is not as much as we wanted, but this is how much the state can afford at present,” said the deputy chairman of the Parliament’s commission on social protection, health and family Adrian Belyi.
Over 69 million lei will go on the provision of medical services for patients with acute stroke and to finance special programs.
