PayPal, a leading global payments provider, announced plans to introduce services into 10 new markets, including Moldova, starting from June 18. As services go live, the people of Moldova, Belarus, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, Nigeria, Paraguay, and Zimbabwe will be able to register for a PayPal account and start making payments on millions of websites around the world without the worry of entering their credit or debit card details online, IPN reports, quoting a press release.

“While technology is breaking down barriers to global commerce, many people are wary of entering their credit or debit card details on the website of an unknown seller, operating in a distant country,” said Damien Perillat, PayPal Regional Manager for Central and Eastern Europe.

PayPal services will roll out across the ten new markets in the coming days. Once live, anyone with access to the Internet and a card authorized for Internet transactions by the issuing bank will be able to register for a PayPal account and start making payments.

The addition of these markets will bring the total number of markets PayPal serves to 203. Founded in 1998, the service gives people simpler ways to send money without sharing financial information, and with the flexibility to pay using their account balances, bank accounts or credit cards.
