The Ministry of the Interior has all the capacities to keep the situation under control and will manage to prevent the offenses with the assistance and involvement of civil society, Minister of the Interior Pavel Voicu said in reply to the statements of a group of MPs of the PPPDA, IPN reports.

The minister noted he will provide detailed information about the crime situation and will be glad if the colleagues of the former minister who asked for explanations from him will assist in the prevention of road accidents and serious crimes. The crime situation is the product of society, not of the police separately. Therefore, it is not right to connect this problem to one person, institution or government,” the minister wrote on Facebook.

According to Pavel Voicu, the Ministry of the Interior started work not when he was appointed minister and traffic accidents or serious offenses started to be witnessed not in that period. “These are problems faced by society each year and we know well that the situation worsens amid political instability. Instead of combing forces, we point the finger at others,” he stated.

The minister recommended the politicians not to engage the image of the institution he heads and the tragedies that occur in the country in political games with the aim of misleading the people.

A group of MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) on January 17 request Minister of the Interior Pavel Voicu to present a detailed report on the crime situation in the country to the national commission on national security, defense and public order next week. According to the MPs, ‘a red code for crime situation’ has been witnessed in Moldova since the start of the year and such a state of affairs is due to the police’s inability to prevent crime risk cases.
