The second stage of the campaign “A doctor for you” was recently launched in Strășeni. A mobile mammogram was taken to Strășeni on October 17 and over 40 women from the district were examined during several days. While on a visit to the Strășeni health center on October 19, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the authorities aim to develop a modern medical system and the biggest problem is not the lack of funds, but the poor fund management capacity. Owing to the campaign, the foundations were laid and an efficient health system can be now be built brick by brick, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
Pavel Filip noted that the Government in the recent past has centered on three important reforms in healthcare: reform of the public health supervision service; primary medical assistance reform, and the hospital sector reform. Among the new elements are the switchover to individual family doctor practice with the possibility of opening private offices.
“The lack of doctors in villages will be solved namely by the primary medical assistance reform. We are waiting for the first family doctors who will go to work in the country’s communities. As to the hospital sector reform, it is important that the people should understand that we do not intend to close hospital, but want to provide high-quality services so that the people are satisfied,” concluded the Premier.
The campaign “A doctor for you” was kicked off about three months ago. So far, over 18,000 persons have been examined as part of this. The campaign was extended by purchasing three mobile devices for mammographic scans. The citizens also benefit from free consultations from mixed teams of doctors, radiographic scans and dental examinations for children.
