The Moldovans who settled abroad donated over 20,000 lei for purchasing 4.5 tonnes of Moldovan apples that will be distributed to the patients of the Chisinau Oncology Institute, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the medical institution, the apples will be delivered weekly and offered to the patients receiving treatment at the hospital.
The initiative was put forward by Nina Gorincioi, who settled in Italy. Her example was followed by other Moldovans from the diaspora. The administration of the Oncology Institute and the Office for Diaspora Relations welcomed the initiative and thanked those who became involved.
