The passengers of a bus crashed on route from Chisinau to Moscow – Moldovan, Ukrainian and Russian nationals – will be taken over by another bus to be ferried safely to their destination, said the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The accident occurred early this morning in the Ukrainian capital, involving a Moldova-licensed bus with 48 passenger and two crew on board.
Local authorities reported that a number of passengers were hurt. Eight, including four children, were rushed to a hospital for detailed medical examinations. All eight subsequently refused hospitalization, said Ukraine’s emergencies service.
According to local press reports, in an attempt to avoid an accident, the driver lost control of steering on slippery roads and rammed the bus into a curb, flipping the vehicle on its side.
