The youth organization of the Party of Action and Sodality considers the dismissal of Ion Iovchev from the post of principal of the Tiraspol Romanian language lyceum “L. Blaga” is political revenge, while minister of education Lilia Pogolșa committed a serious abuse of power, IPN reports.
Path Youth head Eugeniu Sinchevici, in a flashmob meeting staged in front of the Government Building, said the education minister is controlled by Dodon and fully lacks moral principles as she discharges persons by phone. “Mister Iovchev worked at this lyceum for almost 30 years. Who will sign graduates’ diplomas this year?” asked Eugeniu Sinchevici, urging the people to give a determined vote on July 11 so as to drive away all the thieves from the country.
PAS Youth deputy head Mihai Shevchuk said Ion Iovchev was dismissed during the election campaign by a minister who wanted to tear away the covers of over 2,000 books because there was written Romanian language, not Moldovan language on this cover.
PAS candidate for MP Radu Marian noted dismissing a teacher, a principal after he worked for so many years at the lyceum is outrageous and this is one of the illegal and immoral actions of Dodon’s ministers and of Igor Dodon, while candidate Virgiliu Pâslariuc said the abusive discharge of Ion Iovchev is a desperate political gesture by which Igor Dodon wanted to please the authorities of the Transnistrian region.
In a press release, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research said that during 23.03.2015 - 22.06.2021, Ion Iovchev held the post of acting principal of the Theoretical Lyceum “Lucian Blaga” of Tiraspol. In the period, no contest was held to fill the post of director in accordance with the Ministry’s regulations providing that the post can be held on an interim basis for at most six months and that persons who turned 65 cannot compete in the contest, while the directors dismissed because they reached the age of 65 can be hired in any post except for that of manager of a state unit.
