Members of the Party of Action and Solidarity held a flash mob event in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office to show their dissatisfaction with the decision not to investigate President Igor Dodon over the videos showing him receiving a bag from the former Democratic leader, which was presumably with money, IPN reports.

The protesters brought similar bags with them and put on them such messages as “Be attentive, money in “kuliok” (“bag”), “Stoianoglo betrayed, PGO conceded!”, “PGO has “kuliok” on head!”,  “Investigate case of Bahamas and Kuliokul”.

According to PAS leader Maia Sandu, the PGO chose to ignore the acts of grand corruption given the decision not to take legal action against Igor Dodon. This is disrespect for this nation that has been robbed for years,” said Maia Sandu, noting political influence was exerted in this case.

PAS vice president Olesea Stamate, ex-minister of justice, said that under the Penal Procedure Code, an investigation is launched when there is at least one reasonable suspicion that an offense was committed. From her viewpoint, there is such a reasonable suspicion. One cannot determine there are no elements of an offence without taking investigation actions, especially when there is a video revealing “the payment of salaries”.

The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office on June 24 said that after examining the denouncement submitted by the leader of the PPPDA Andrei Năstase and the request made by MP Iurie Reniță, it determined that the videos made at the head office of the Democratic Party do not contain elements of an offense. It was thus ordered to drop the case.
