Members of the Party of Action and Solidarity said those from the Party of Socialists are preparing a number of provocative actions for the last part of the election campaign. According to PAS MPs, PSRM intends to print and distribute false materials about PAS and to place posters in the name of PAS in unauthorized places, including on cars, IPN reports.
In a news conference, PAS acting president Igor Grosu said the Socialists, with nontransparent funds, created parties overnight in a move to mislead the voters and to annul the vote of thousands of people. “We call on the people of good fate: Even if you have sympathies for a newly formed team or a party that risks not to pass the threshold, think well. Is it worth wasting a vote that will be distributed by Shor, Dodon and Voronin or you’d better offer a vote to a team that is under the attack of all the unsavory persons? There will be no runoff vote. We will have what we choose on July 11 until 2025,” stated the MP.
MP Sergiu Litvinenco said PSRM plans to write messages in the name of PAS on walls, buildings, stations so as to show to the people that PAS uses any method to win the elections. They also intend to stick posters in unauthorized places so as to give the impression that PAS does not obey the law and to throw down PAS brochures and other materials in crowded places, such as markets, parks and in front of apartment buildings. Also, the Socialists will disseminate posters with calls for an aggressive campaign against the political rivals as if on the part of PAS supporters.
PAS secretary general Andrei Spînu called on the members and supporters of PAS to muster the remaining energy and during the period that remained until the elections to persuade the people to go to the polls and vote for PAS.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, spokeswoman for PSRM Carmena Sterpu said those from PAS know dubiously well how a dirty campaign is conducted. “We consider they want to make victims of themselves so as to falsely accuse other contenders of electoral attacks,” she stated.
