The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” (PPPDA) already started the campaign prior to the parliamentary elections, including by the mounted protests, journalist Victor Nichitus stated in the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

According to him, the fact that the two parties stage different events not only in Chisinau, but also in other parts of the country could mean taking of action to identify possible candidates in single-member constituencies. By the staged protests, the leaders of the two parties do nothing but keep their sympathizers on alert.

Deputy head of the Democratic Youth Organization Ion Harghel said earlier the opposition leaders adopted in the central square of Chisinau a resolution by which they demanded that the MPs should be elected directly and now they plead against the mixed electoral system. “The truth is that they do not want the mixed electoral system because they do not have a team at the local level. This is the key reason,” he stated.

Ion Harghel described the opposition’s protests as a kind of flashmob meetings that bring together only pensioners. Furthermore, children are brought to protests and are used as cannon fodder and this is serious. “As far as I noticed, the elderly people are the voters of Maia Sandu and Andrei Nastase. Their flashmob meetings involve only older women who usually do not have what do to at home and look for possibilities of quarreling all day long,” he noted.
