The Party of Regions, which competes in the snap parliamentary elections of July 11 under No. 18 on the ballot, presented its electoral program that contains “concrete actions for saving and keeping the country sovereign and independent”. In a news conference at IPN, the party’s vice president Alexandru Elița said that a number of steps will be taken to maintain the country’s sovereignty and integrity and to unite the citizens.

The party pleads for unconditionally keeping the status of neutral state, demilitarizing the region, not involving Moldova in any of the military political blocs, restoring the History of Moldova subject, studying Russian as a language of interethnic communication, as earlier. After a national referendum is held, the Russian language should be given the status of the second official language. In order to keep the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova, the unionist parties should be outlawed. As the largest part of the population is Christian, the propagation of “sin” should be banned by law.

According to Alexandru Elița, the Party of Regions is a community of real patriots of the country who have moral and ethical values and who with all their heart care for the future of the country and its children. The party’s administration is a community of people rich in families, children and good deeds intended for the citizens from the country and outside it, not in offshore accounts, villages and yachts. They are people free from corruption who know the needs of the people from their own experience and who perceive the political activity as a mission, as a service in the interests of the people and the country. “We assume responsibility for Moldova’s future as the political elite that led the country during 30 years in the name of the people brought the people and the country to a state of poverty, depopulation, loss of identity and self-respect,” said the party’s vice-president.

Alexandr Kalinin, president of the Party of Regions, wondered why many citizens name the language they speak not Moldovan, but Romanian. Things will clarify when there is a common idea related to identification. Three party’s program contains not empty words, but concrete actions.

The party’s vice-president Sergey Pashkcov said that during the past 30 years, owing to the nationality issue, the politicians divide the people by ethnicity, nationality. Each of the persons wants to be protected economically, by the law and the state. They want the politicians stop solving the own and party interests. “We are ordinary people and live among the people and know their needs. We are tired of the same faces in politics as these change their promises, but the situation in the country does not change. We do not have an independent law system. We are tired of healthcare services of a poor quality, even if we have good doctors. It’s time to introduce individual accountability for politicians for unfulfilled promises,” stated Sergey Pashkov, noting that the persons who occupy high-ranking posts should renounce the second nationality.
