The Commission for National Security, Defense and Public Order decided on Thursday, October 12 not to solicit dismissal of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Gheorghe Papuc, during the penal investigations based on the accusations brought by an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, major Constantin Domnisor.
The head of the Commission, Iurie Stoicov declared at the meeting of the Parliament, that the information of the deputy general prosecutor Valeriu Gurbulea was heard. According to Stoicov, the Commission ascertained that the actions of the Prosecution Office are complying with the legislation in force. Penal proceedings were initiated on this case, and in the investigations are involved not only the employees of the Prosecution Office, but also employees of the Intelligence Service. Gurbulea decided that any supplementary discussion about the issue in the Parliament and within the frameworks of the Commission can be considered as interference in investigation, fact which violates the legislation, Stoicov said.
The member of the specialized Commission, Vladimir Filat declared that this case must be closely monitored; however the interventions of the MPs must not affect the investigation.
MP Dumitru Braghis, who solicited the dismissal of the minister Papuc during the investigation, declared that Standing Bureau of the Parliament and the Commission cover the offences of a high-ranking state official. “It is strange that, in this case, the leadership of the country keeps silence and is afraid to approve a correctly made decision”, the MP declared.
Major Constantin Domnisor has recently announced that he discovered that he holds possession of an apartment about he did not know anything. Short time after he insisted to take over the possession of the dwelling, a grenade exploded at his window. Domnisor accuses Gheorghe Papuc that he is responsible of this attack and qualifies it as “murder attempt”.
