Parliament’s autumn session ended

The MPs went into recess. On Thursday, Parliament adopted a draft decision on the ending of the autumn session. The MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists didn’t attend the last sitting as they announced a boycott at the beginning of the day, IPN reports.

In his speech, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu took stock of the parliamentary accomplishments, mentioning also the initiatives aimed at bringing the national legislation closer to the standards of the European Union.

“A big thank you to all our citizens. Our firm commitment is to increase their pensions and salaries. They must feel welfare as soon as possible and we will do everything possible to bring welfare to Moldova,” stated Igor Grosu

“Our firm commitment is to do things quickly, by the book, so as to bring welfare to the Republic of Moldova.”

According to the Parliament’s Regulations, the legislature has two ordinary sessions per year. The autumn session starts in September and ends in December.

The MPs will return from the winter parliamentary recess on January 15, 2024.
