The MP of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party, Valeriu Cosarciuc demands that the parliamentary Opposition is granted more rights, in compliance with the stipulations of a Resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Info-Prim Neo reports.
At the Parliament’s sitting on February 28, Cosarciuc said that according to the given document, the national legislatures must strengthen the powers of the Opposition. It also says that the Opposition has the right to draw up the agenda of a plenary meeting once a month by the vote of 25% of the MPs.
The MP proposed amending the Parliament’s Regulations and implementing the norms of the Resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, which was also approved of by Moldova’s delegation to the PACE.
At the same sitting, president of the Democratic Party Dumitru Diacov said the Parliament should be informed about the dismissal of ministers, especially in case of abuse of power or incompetence. The MP referred to the recent dismissal of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Constantin Mihailescu.
