The beginning of the autumn session of the parliament is marked by the examination of a bill after the adoption of which the anti-corruption examination of laws and Government decision will become mandatory, declared the speaker Marian Lupu, in his session opening speech. Thus, starting October 2006, the Parliament will accept for examination only the drafts joined by the anti-corruption expert appraisement. Among the documents of primordial importance, in opinion of the speaker are the Budget law for 2007; Law on compulsory insurance fund of medical assistance for the next year; Law on budget of state social insurance; Law on social protection of persons with disabilities and their families; new version of the Law on insurances; new Law on mediation in civil causes. Also, according to Lupu’s words, the Parliament will finalize the execution of the Schedule Program of legislative actions in conformity with the Resolution and the Recommendations of the Commission on respecting the obligations and engagements of the member states of the European Council which was adopted about a year ago, in November 2005. At its first sitting, the Parliament passed in first reading a bill concerning the compulsoriness of the anti-corruption examination, which was, though, criticized by the opposition representatives.
