Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti is to hold consultations with the parliamentary groups in order to identify a new candidate for premiership. On March 5, the Filat Government was dismissed after the no confidence motion proposed by the Communists was supported by 54 MPs, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Communist MPs said that during the last few months those from the Alliance for European Integration accused each other and a number of irregularities were revealed. The leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said that early elections must take place following the dismissal of the Government and the former colleagues from the ruling coalition mustn’t dare to form a new alliance. The representatives of the Democratic Party who voted in favor of the motion said that the no confidence vote is given to Vlad Filat, not the Cabinet. The PLDM has the right to put forward a new candidate for the post of Prime Minister because it has the largest number of seats in the coalition government. But the Democrats said they will not vote for Vlad Filat if he is proposed again for premiership. The Liberal Party didn’t vote in favor of the censure motion for the reason that it was put forward by the Communists. The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that Vlad Filat’s decision to withdraw from the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration was an order that came from Moscow following the radical changes that took place in the relations between Moldova and the EU. The censure motion was supported by unaffiliated MPs Mihai Godea and Sergiu Sirbu and the four lawmakers of the group of Socialists. After the voting, Vlad Filat said that it was revenge taken on him because he insisted on the dismissal of the Democrat Vlad Plahotniuc from the post of First Deputy Speaker. He also said that the Democratic ministers do not have a place in a Cabinet that was given a vote of no confidence by the party that named them. The Cabinet will hold a meeting this evening, starting at 5pm. Marian Lupu invited the leaders of the former AEI to talks also this evening.
