Parliament to resume sittings Feb 7

The Parliament of Moldova will meet for the first time in its 2008 spring/summer session on February 7, after the winter recess, as decided today by the Parliament’s Standing Bureau.
According to the Parliament’s media service, at the opening of the first plenary sitting, Speaker Marian Lupu will outline the priorities of the legislature for the spring/summer session.
Among the issues to be debated by the Parliament in the first two weeks of the session are bills concerning international commercial arbitration, invention protection, internal trade, right to assemblies, trademark protection, and others.
The MPs are also to vote on the ratification of the Police Cooperation Convention for South-East Europe, the draft law on signing the Convention on the issue of multilingual extracts from civil status records, etc.
The last plenary meeting of the 2007 fall/winter session took place on December 28 and was a festive one.
